Day 3 - Wednesday 3rd December 2008

So here I am at Day 3 and quite enjoying the transition so far, although I am finding that I am hungry more frequently. I finish eating and half an hour later find I am still hungry. Obviously this has a lot to do with water in the fruit and veg. So I'm definately eating more frequently, which I believe is better for you anyway, apparantly. There's still a long way to go until success, but I'm looking forward to the challenges that I'm sure lie ahead.
Since my last entry, I have discovered that I may be eating too much dried fruit and nuts and need to eat more green leafy foods. A good way of doing that is by having a 'Green Smoothie' in the morning, which consists of juice or water, banana and spinach. Sounds pretty disgusting, I must say, but I'm up for a challenge (see, I have one already) . I might give it a go with juice though, rather than water. Water I would tend to think would be too bland. I know I don't have any spinach at home (that's because I hate spinach), so looks like I will have to stock up on that veg....soon!
Due to work commitments, I'm up very early in the morning, 3.30am, so normally don't have something to eat until around 7.00am. This morning though hunger did take a hold and I ate early.
Today's food consumption by days end will be:
2 Bananas
Large bowl of fruit salad
Vegetable finger food (1 carrot, 2 sticks celery, 1 small tomato, 10 slices cucumber, 8 beans, sprig of snow pea sprouts
2 large handfuls of a mix of almonds, cashews, pepitas, sunflower seeds, sultanas and dates.
A sweet honey salad (lettuce, grated carrot, sultanas, snow pea sprouts, thinly sliced beans with a drizzle of a mixture of honey and water.
Broccoli & Carrots in Spicy Almond Sauce and served with Zucchini Pasta (which is actually thinly peeled zucchini strips.)
I guess it seems like a lot when you look at it written down, but when you consider my early starts and the fact that most of it is watery foods, you can probably understand.
Anyway, tonight will be the first night I actually make a recipe rather than just have whole raw foods, so it will be interesting how it turns out, but looking forward to it.
