Day 50 - Monday 19th January 2009

Well finally got my act together this morning and went for a walk. Was up 15minutes earlier than I would normally get up (usually 3.30am) and went for a 1/2 hour walk. Got out of bed in a fair bit of pain, due to my arthritis, and the first 10 minutes, pretty much strugged to keep going. I perservered and found my body loosening up after this and felt a lot better after the walk. Am trying not to overdo it too much and starting out slowly until my body gets use to it and then I'll increase the length of time I walk. I'm still continuing with my evening exercises (palates & yoga style exercises), but I would imagine it will take quite some time before I start to see the results of exercising, due to only being able to do a little each day. Some exercise though, has got to be better than none and it's allowing my muscles and joints to move, which it vital.

Purchased some organic body/skin products on the net the other day and received them in the post today. I've decided that if I'm treating the inside of my body with natural foods, then I should start to do something about the outside as well. After a lot of research, I decided on an Australian product called 'Sukin' which has a blend of organic botanicals, essential oils and natural ingredients and is also a carbon neutral product. They have over a dozen different products, and I decided to try the shampoo & conditioner, deodarent, body wash & facial moisturiser. Looking forward to my first use, which will be this evening with the body wash and facial moisturiser.

Got the watering system up and working on the weekend, along with some shade cloth over the vegetable garden, to protect it a little. Once the pump is switched on the water then feeds straight from the creek onto the plants. So much quicker than the hose and it allows me to do other things while the garden is being watered. Also planted some seeds into small punnets, on the weekend; parsnips, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, snowpeas, onions, capsicum, pumpkin & zucchini. Once they have sprouted and are around 7cm tall, they will be ready for planting. In the meantime, we have to extend the vegetable garden and prepare it for planting when required. Will probably tackle this sometime over the weekend, seeing it will be the Australia Day long weekend. Another job to add to the list.
