Well finally got around to making myself a 'Green Smoothie' - GS. Have been told that the easiest way to get more greens in your diet is to blend the greens with fruit, hence The Green Smoothie. I've been avoiding the GS for the last 34 days, but on Saturday decided I would make one for dinner. Into the blender went, bok choy, water, pineapple, watermelon, orange, mango & rockmelon. Once blended I discovered I had quite a bit more than I intended (2 litres to be exact). Oh well, I thought. Be game, I said to myself as I took my first mouthful of the thick, green smoothie. Yeh, not too bad. Has a hint of green taste. Well after the first glass, that was about as far as I really wanted to venture, but unfortunately there were still a few more ahead of me. So I dug my heels in and sipped away. Every sip getting a stronger and stronger green taste. Well about fifteen minutes after the last swallow, I then proceeded to run backwards and forwards to the ladies around half a dozen times, (a great system clean out), before my stomach was finally settled and I was able to go to bed.
Not being deterred, the following morning I thought I would have another go, however this time I added a banana as well. Well, what a difference a simple banana makes. Definately the way to go when making further GS. This time the ladies room only saw me twice (boy, what a relief). So all in all the GS (providing you add a banana) isn't really that bad..
I don't know why I made such a fuss, after all.
