Day 57 - Wednesday 28th January 2009

As of this morning, I have given up the walking and instead am using an Infinity Elliptical Trainer (you pedal like an exercise bike, but instead of sitting, you are standing). Pedalling can be done in the forward or reverse motion (reverse is a killer), but fantastic. Purchased it for only $50.00 from the local Tender Centre. Other than a couple of batteries it needed for the display screen, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Used it this morning and it worked a treat. Definately a better work out than walking. Started out slow with a 10 minute workout and was hot, sweating and puffing by the time I finished. I could certainly feel the different muscles working. Below is a picture I found on the net (an older model than this one, but the same type of treadmill). I've only had it one day and am already in love with it. I might even incorporate it into my evening exercise regime as well. Definately a way of staying fit and toning the butt and legs.

I hope I'm not jinxing myself by saying this, but today is 11 days since I last took any drugs for my arthritis. I am totally wrapped, as the longest I have gone previously without drugs, was for 3 days, before the pain became too much and I once again had to start taking my drugs again.

I am not pain-free by any means, but it is bearable and I feel I can put up with it in order to be drug-free, which has always been my aim. The mornings are still a bit of a struggle (very stiff & sore), but after exercising the stiffness disappears. There's still a long way to go, but so far, it's looking good (real good) for my health. The new raw lifestyle I have adapted over the last 57 days has definately attributed to this change. There will be no going back now.
